• Perform controls troubleshooting and confer with controls designer, engineers, other team members to resolve problems.
• Provide technical information concerning calibration, programming and machine setup.
• Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Compile and analyze operational test data to resolve performance issues.
• Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Install design modifications as required.
• Maintain critical environmental and process controls.
• Maintain project documents using approved methodology, tools, and templates.
• Participate on project teams supporting activities related to controls issues.
• Provide support to plants as requested; assist in the development and training of plant maintenance personnel in the area of controls systems.
• All other duties as assigned.
• A mindful eye to personal safety concerns (Lock-out tag out practices…)

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and pneumatic /control systems and the ability to apply these concepts within the manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine designs and process requirements involved in the manufacturing process.
• Ability to create, read, understand, and modify electrical prints and specifications.
• Root cause analysis skills.
• Technical competence in software to design ladder logic and machine controls and troubleshoot machine controls (Siemens-Step 7, Allen Bradley-Ladder Logic).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of servo motors, motion controls and drives.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure/meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to conduct training, interact and collaborate effectively with peers, management, vendors, plant team members, etc.
• Understanding of Vision applications.

• Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• Years of Experience: 2+ years progressive controls experience in an automotive manufacturing or assembly facility.
• Mechanical build experience
